Our verdict
If your car has a NACS port, this factory NACS version is the Home Flex to choose: ChargePoint fits a NACS (SAE J3400) cable with a handle button that opens the charge port door, and puts a NACS holster insert in the box. It comes in the same three versions as the J1772 model, NEMA 14-50, NEMA 6-50 or hardwired, each with a 23 ft cable.
The install rules match too: six settings from 16 A to 50 A, 50 A on a 70 A hardwired circuit and 48 A on 60 A, plug-in versions capped at 40 A on a 50 A circuit (in Canada, plug-in only on a 50 A circuit), and a non-GFCI breaker recommended. It is UL and cUL listed. If you already own a J1772 Home Flex, ChargePoint sells a self-install NACS cable kit instead.
So does the catch. Under the May 2026 install guide, a unit not installed, commissioned or serviced by a ChargePoint-certified technician is excluded from all warranties, while the Canadian install FAQ still says any licensed electrician can install it; ask your installer before you buy. The parts warranty is three years. We track no store selling this version yet, in the US or Canada.

ChargePoint Home Flex NACS questions
Can I convert my J1772 Home Flex to NACS instead?
Yes. ChargePoint’s datasheet lists a self-install NACS conversion kit for the CPH50 (part CPHCABLE-50A-L23-NACS-KIT) with a 23 ft, 50 A NACS cable and a holster ball insert. It suits owners who already have a J1772 Home Flex on the wall. If you are buying new for a NACS car, the factory NACS version comes ready to use.
What breaker does the Home Flex NACS need for full speed?
A 70 A circuit, hardwired, for the full 50 A. ChargePoint’s install guide pairs 50 A with a 70 A circuit and 48 A with 60 A, and lets plug-in versions run at up to 40 A on a 50 A circuit. It asks for a new dedicated non-GFCI two-pole breaker. A licensed electrician sizes the circuit to the code edition adopted where you live.
Does the Home Flex NACS open a Tesla charge port?
Yes. ChargePoint’s datasheet lists a button on the NACS handle that opens the car’s charge port door. The handle uses the SAE J3400 (NACS) connector, and the box includes a NACS insert for the holster. Everything else about the charger, from the six current settings to the apps used for setup, matches the J1772 Home Flex.
